I am giddy
Like a child whose picture is placed proudly on the fridge
I don’t know what to say
What language the professionals use
How to respond to the request
Inviting my work
Inviting my thoughts
Offering words of thanks for words I have kept in my heart
And now bled onto paper.
The giddiness slides into breathing
And I am familiar with this now
Having waited for so long
To have the courage to do
What we have all been created to do
share our humanity and remind each other we are not alone.
